Are you a teen looking to develop your leadership skills? Do you want to explore working with children in a creative, supportive, and fun environment? Become a Counselor-in-Training (CIT)!

Summer J-Camp Counselors-In-Training (CIT) for teens in grades 9–10

The Counselor in Training (CIT) program is designed for teens who want to further their leadership skills and/or prepare to become a counselor at J-Camp in future years. Just like our LIT program, CITs will also have time in a classroom setting where they develop and hone in on their leadership skills, ranging from critical thinking to organization and problem solving. The CITs will be assigned a group to work with for the week and will be required to run at least 1 or 2 activities with that group. The activities can range from arts and crafts to sports and games. This volunteer position is for teens entering 9th & 10th grade who want to further their leadership skills and who want to learn more about how to be a counselor in the future!

To be a CIT:
•    Must be entering grades 9th & 10th grade
•    Must have attended J-Camp for at least 1 summer
•    Must be available to come for a minimum of 2 weeks
•    Must have a positive and cooperative attitude
•    Must submit two letters of recommendation. (Ex: Teacher, family friend) and schedule a time to interview with the Camp Director and LIT/CIT Director.
